A hands-on 'PureData' workshop presented by Derek Holzer and Aymeric
Mansoux over a period of 5 days including an open presentation day on
Saturday 11 December.

Pure data is a versatile and flexible open source application used by artists and musicians working and experimenting with interactivity, sound, graphics & video. The workshop will cover the free software philosophy, Linux audio basics, sound recording and editing techniques using PureData and also GEM, the Graphics Environment for Multimedia. GEM is an external library for PD which allows for the creation and manipulation of 3D objects.

" There are many programs for sound and multimedia production, but
few of them can really be customized by the user. Fewer still are free to download, use and share. Free and open source software provides a real alternative to expensive commercial software and professional gear." Derek Holzer.
