Climate fluctuation in cocao growing countries has encouraged viruses to spread from insect vectors to the ‘chocolate’ crop. This climate related has caused wide-spread devastation, precarious livelihoods for cocao farmers and crop failures.
The SIXTH MASS EXTINCTION event is underway as we leave the Holocence and signal in the Anthropocene (human-centric era). Entirely a man-made extinction, this project looks at food sources and their ecologies which are threatened with extinction and those which will thrive in this seismic shift.
